SSS Week 3 Weigh-Facing Your Fears
It's week 3! Today I'm trying to figure out why the scale reads as it does but more than anything I'm wondering why the heck is it going in the other direction? I'm sure that my body understands that I need to get my moolah back from this DietBet Challenge.
Over the past week, I've been focusing on my meal prep and I've attended Bikram Yoga 4 of 7 days but this situation is looking bleak. I will say that I recall saying not to fall victim to the scale so I'm not going to let this worry me and I have some full body pics that I don't have nerve enough to share because "I don't think you ready for this jelly" In my Beyonce voice.
As I was scrolling through Instagram, I ran into this quote:
It made me think...well, the scale isn't moving in the direction that I would like in the past week but what have I gained? I will say that I have shed some anxiety from my life and gained mental strength. I've mentioned before that I have avoided yoga like the plague because I just don't feel flexible. Although not flexible I've managed to show up for yoga FOUR TIMES this week! Yes I repeat FOUR TIMES in the past 7 days. This is proof right here that not all progress has to be physical! In my case this week, I've pushed through mental barriers.
Facing Your Fears
Why is it important that I've shown up for yoga 4 of 7 days? Well, I've shared with many who have attended From Vision to Victory that I have a fear of failing. If there is something that I think that I can't do I just won't do it. In this case I've continued to go although the only pose that I've maseterd is Shavasana (see pic below) but hey I'm trying.
So what does this have to do with being Sizzling by Summer? It's important that we understand that just like the post above that all progress isn't physical. Facing fears can be just what you need to do the following:
- Get started on your weight loss journey
- Try and healthy meal or drink
- Start exercising
- Increase your current exercise intensity
- Take that before picture to track your progress
While I don't feel slimmer I certainly feel stronger mentally and menttal health is so important for everyday life!
Are you on this journey with me? If so remember not to fall victim to the scale and focus on how you feel, celebrate all non scale victories because the journey is about more than just that number but since I've committed to sharing. Here you go!
