Mirror, Mirror On the Wall: Maintaining a Polished Look
As a self proclaimed selfie queen, I believe that my iPhone 5S can capture some excellent pics and a camera only captures what it sees but when presenting yourself to the public as a professional, expert, or resource you want to present your best self. Not saying that who you are in your every day life isn't your best but you want to bring your "Sunday's Best" and not only that you want it captured by a professional photographer.
Just recently I had to pleasure of meeting Stacy Pierce of Stacy Pierce Photograpy, while attending a conference she was offering FREE headshots and who doesn't like FREE. This photo session went beyond just being a headshot that was free. This encounter allowed me to meet new people and build new relationships as there were others taking advantage of this generous offer. Are you still trying to figure out why you can't just use the pictures from your phone?
Here are my top 3 reasons why moving from selfies to professional photos will help solidify your brand.
- It will provide you with current photos of yourself allowing the photographer to capture you in your true essence.
- Professional photos will provide you with materials for upcoming projects, events, speaking engagements, blog post and website refresh.
- A professional look tells the world that you are serious about your business and how you market your brand.
I understand that not everyone can afford professional photos but if you have a friend, family member or student in your area who does photography, often times they can provide a lot more options than you are able to accomodate with your smart phone.
