Coupons, coupons and more coupons

So one of the items on my 40 by 40 list is to start couponing again on a bi-weekly basis (I thought weekly would be pushing it) well last week I purchased 4 papers separated them and finally today I clipped them. I also printed out some online coupons and although this week wasn't my week to buy papers I purchased 1 paper because according to Young and Frugal in Virginia there was a coupon for $8 dollar off a purchase of $50 or more for Martin's Grocery Store. Well based on the state of my refrigerator I could spend 50 bucks and not blink. I was determined that my budget was only $50 but I really hadn't plotted my trip out. I had a general idea of what I needed but I didn't have a fool proof plan. In the store with coupons from several sources, my value card and I stopped by the coupons kiosk upon entering the store and I went in and gathered my desired items.  I was able to obtain fresh and packaged meats,  fresh fruits and vegetables, beverages, oatmeal, sauces, laundry detergent, cleaning products, chips, cereal, noodles, paper towels and even a finger nail clipper.  After gathering all of these items in my cart I would like to report that I came in only $4 over budget but my retail price after tax was very close to $100.00. I say really good for a partially planned trip.

More savings to come!
